  • Cortona Week Editorial 2016 - Uncertainty & Serendipity: http://www.cortona.ethz.ch/program/index Each year, the Cortona Week aims to gather prestigious, fascinating and diverse speakers and workshop leaders to provide participants with a true inter- and transdiciplinary experience between science, humanities, arts and spirituality. The board strives to stay true to Cortona Week's mission statement with the seminars and workshops it provides during the week. A typical day schedule in Cortona starts as early as 7.15 with Singing, Yoga, Drumming, Taiji (also known as Tai Chi) and Qigong. The official morning program (9:30-13:00) is devoted to the lectures and seminars with discussion groups giving broad and different insights into the annual topic. During the afternoons, participants can choose among practical workshops like painting, sculpturing, movement, singing or composing, drumming, literature and poetry in sessions with professionals who encourage the participants to interact with their bodies, creativity and their emotions. The late afternoons (18:00-19:00) are dedicated to the "Student's Corner" where every student may lift his or her voice for a burning question and controversary opinions. These short statements or questions are delving into specific topics of the morning lectures or following a wider scope of inter- and transdciplinary discourses on science, humanities and arts.
