Microtissues characterization by means of a newly developed in-situ sensor
This project is about the experimental test and measurements of a recently developed multi-modality sensor, which is integrated in an open microfluidic hanging-drop platform. The sensor includes electrophysiology, impedance, and electrochemical recording units. Functionality of different recording units will be validated by using cell and microtissue models. For example, electrophysiology data will be used to follow the beating activity of cardiac microtissues, impedance data will be used for growth profiling and electrochemical data for tracking lactate production of a tumor microtissue.
