Motion tracking in MRI using an accelerometer & gyro sensor
Patient motion is one of the main limiting factors when it comes to achievable MR image quality. Being able to monitor these motions in real time, feed them back to the scanner and correct for them while imaging has potential to greatly improve image resolution. In this project we want to benchmark a commercial accelerometer and gyro sensor using a robot arm combined with optical tracking. In extension, it would also be of interest to investigate how the sensor interacts with the electromagnetic fields in the scanner.
