For detailed information please visit https://ethz.ch/singapore-month
The ETH Singapore Month – a summer school of almost four weeks – consists of a framework program (exclusively for ETH master students) and a core workshop in which ETH student collaborate with graduates from local and international universities at the Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) of the National University of Singapore (NUS). The aim of the core workshop is to explore complex challenges of our time, under the heading “The Future of Circular Economies”.
Students engage with researchers from a range of disciplines as well as with public officials from Singapore agencies. They visit research centers and infrastructure facilities, meet government representatives, social advocates, and fellow students from local and overseas partner universities. This allows them to be exposed to a broad range of (partially conflicting) issues, ideas, and ideologies that shape the future of global society.
Next to a dense and innovative learning format, the ETH Singapore Month is also about experiencing the Singaporean culture and its research environment in Southeast Asia. The students stay in NUS campus housing located within walking distance of the CREATE building.
**CAVEAT:** Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) we might need to adapt the schedule and/or set up of the ETH Singapore Month 2020. We will publish any changes directly here on the web page. The current information on the situation in Singapore is provided by the Ministry of Health.

**Week 1**
Participants from ETH Zurich arrive in Singapore and follow an intercultural framing week, with guided visits, allowing students to understand and immerse themselves into local culture.
**Weeks 2 + 3**
The core workshop – named STP4 (for Science, Technology, People, Prototyping, Policy, Practice) – brings together students and faculty from different disciplines and universities to explore complex challenges of our time, under the heading “The Future of Circular Economies” – whether pertaining to climate change, environmental degradation, resource depletion, growing waste, widespread poverty, demographic ageing, or ethnic and gender inequality.
Based on input seminars and excursions, participants work in small interdisciplinary groups and critically investigate the potential of design (and of design thinking) as a method for both the production of knowledge and its implementation into practice.
Here the local students (NUS, NTU and SUTD) and students from the CREATE Part
