Point-of-care PCR sample loading
The Functional Materials Laboratory (FML) of ETH Zürich is a group performing world-class research in a wide variety of fields, from nanoparticle chemistry to chemical device development. We are designing and developing innovative solutions for a wide range of applications with a cost-effective approach and short time-to-result.
We are looking forward to work with a passionate and determined student/worker. The project is about the development of a tool for easy sample application to an array of holes in a cartridge to be used for super-rapid PCR. Sample partitioning into similar volumes in a simple and repeatable way would enable laypeople to utilize the power of PCR at their homes. We envision you to conceptualize, design and prototype a small device while critically thinking about usability, scalability and performance. You will work next to a young and motivated team, and we will provide you with all the instruments to conduct your experimentations under the best conditions in a fully equipped laboratory! Ideal position for thesis, student projects, or research assistant work. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
