Wandfluh is a swiss company which develops high quality solutions for hydraulic applications. In cooperation with Inspire Wandfluh is evaluating the benefits of additive manufacturing (AM) for their systems by developing an AM hydraulic valve. This offers many opportunities while also leading to new challenges.
One main challenge in hydraulic valves is the wear between spool and valve body. Surface texturing has proven to have a positive effect on the tribological behavior. Due to the design freedom which is given through AM, this concept can be used to improve the performance of the AM hydraulic valve.
