Student assistant position in code optimization and development
The Computational Mechanics group at D-MAVT is looking for a student assistant with experience in Matlab code development to optimize an in-house developed numerical module.
Job description:
The main task here will be to optimize the numerical code (for fracture studies) written in Matlab to achieve speed-up. For this, the student will have to gain a basic understanding of the existing code structure and methods, identify the most time consuming routines by performing run-time profiling, and then propose and implement strategies for speed-up.
Your profile:
1. Knowledge in solid mechanics, finite element method
2. Experience in Matlab is necessary
3. Experience of working on a cluster would be useful
Working hours are flexible with a minimum of 20 hours per month. Further details can be agreed upon.
