• Electrical characterization and experimental test of a recently developed CMOS_MEA sensor

Microelectrode arrays (MEAs) with the ability to sense electrical features such as voltage and impedance, are interesting tools to investigate some features of biological samples. This project is about the experimental test and measurements of a recently developed multi-modality CMOS MEA, that includes voltage, impedance, and electrochemical recording units. This MEA is integrated in an open microfluidic hanging-drop platform which enables to make and maintain the biological samples, including cardiac and tumor microtissues. The main part of the project is to perform test experiments, by recording voltage and impedance of microtissues and analyzing the recorded data, in order to validate the functionality of different recording units of the developed CMOS MEA. Microfabrication of the microfluidic device can be also included, based on student’s interest.
