Student Assistant - Laser for precision machining of dressing and grinding tools
inspire AG is ETH Zurich's strategic partner and the leading Swiss competence centre for technology transfer to the industry. For joint projects, inspire brings together the best partners in industry, universities, and technical colleges, and has the brains, knowledge, and experience to successfully turn ideas into innovations. The laser group at inspire AG works closely with two leading institutes at ETH, the Institute of Machine Tools and Manufacturing (IWF) and the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory (am|z). The laser labs are equipped with state of-the-art lasers and cutting-edge technology.
We are looking for students at ETH who are interested in working on innovative research projects along
with their studies. You will be involved in research and development projects for leading Swiss and
international manufacturing companies. Laser for precision machining is still under development and has
enormous industrial potential. With the latest laser technology, it’s possible to machine micro-meter
structures precisely and difficult-to-machine materials like diamonds efficiently.
The average workload will be 10-15h/week and the gross hourly wage for HiWi is CHF 28. The laser labs are located
at Technopark Zurich. Students who are interested in spending their extra time working on pioneer
research kindly send your CV and grade sheet to the contact mentioned below. In future, HiWi’s will have
the opportunity to continue their work in the form of internships or thesis in the laser group.
