Blockchain: Numerous Topics
Our group does a lot of research on blockchain technology, both in the CS/ML data analytics part as well as the business/investment part. Drop me a quick message to see what’s on at the moment.
Keywords: Blockchain, ICO, Initial Coin Offering, Token Sale, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), Social Media
In our interdisciplinary group we performed several studies investigating numerous blockchain topics (e.g., ICOs). We have over four years experience with blockchain technology and ICOs, both on a technical (prototyping, MEAN stack, solidity, Ethereum, NEO development, cluster analyses, etc.) and business/investment level (influence of social media on ICOs, investigating differences between ICOs, influence of ICOs on diversity of blockchain industry). We are continuously looking for excellent students who want to work on these or similar topics. You are welcome to propose your own. Our expertise area is 1) the blockchain space and 2) data anlytics (traditional statistics and ML methods such as random forest/ clustering, NN etc.)
We can discuss details of the subject in a quick phone call. The specifics of the subject might change depending on the research progress in our group and developments in the blockchain community.
Requirements: You should be deeply interested in blockchain technology and its application. The more you already know the better, although no specific prerequisites are necessary. Only if you want to tackle a technical subject, you need to have programming experiences and/or be able to apply common ML techniques with the standard Python libs (that’s what we use at least).

1) Increase your blockchain (and technical) expertise: You should learn a lot during the thesis, regarding the blockchain space and, if your topic, data analytics
2) Write a successful master thesis
3) Potentially: Create a publication based on that thesis (this would be the task of a researcher from our group – and your contribution to the publication would naturally be duly enlisted.
