3D printing with ANYmal
In a collaboration between our lab and the Gramazio Kohler Research group of the architectural department, we investigate the use of ANYmal to construct complex structures using impact printing methods. The quadrupedal machine will be equipped with an extruder mechanism that allows it to precisely d

In this project, the student gets the opportunity to
- Develop a prototype version of the concrete depositing mechanism
- Integrate the system on ANYmal
- Develop control algorithms to “shoot” concrete at the right location
- Perform first feasibility tests with ANYmal
If successful, the planned system will be deployed to build up a large scale architectural demonstrator.
Interested students should ideally be skilled in mechatronic design, C++ programming, and control.
