Mixed Reality in Production: Interactive/Collaborative Support Tools
In this thesis, you will research in the field of Human-Computer-Interaction and build a Unity application for Microsoft HoloLens with the goal to increase productivity on the shop floor.
In today`s competitive market environment it is important for firms in manufacturing to optimize all aspects of their operations. In order to do so, novel technologies in the field of Augmented or Mixed Reality (AR/MR) can be leveraged in a variety of ways. In this thesis, you will build a Unity application for Microsoft HoloLens with the goal to increase productivity on the shop floor.
Within your thesis you have the chance to combine theory with practice. You will identify research opportunities within the field of Human-Computer-Interaction (e.g. collaboration, learning, or support through MR) and build a Unity MR application. This thesis offers the possibility to validate your results through a real-world experiment at one of our industry partners.

The goal of this research-oriented thesis is to create a usable software artifact which contributes to the current literature in Human-Computer-Interaction. To ensure the validity and relevance of the solution not only for academia, but also for practice, the MR software will be based on real-life problems from industry.
We are looking for highly motivated students with:
- Experience (or a very strong desire to learn) implementing Unity MR solutions
- Interest in Human-Computer-Interaction
- Strong interest in research and scientific work
- Willingness to participate in current research
- Willingness to travel (appr. once per month) to the industry partner near Zurich
