Sensorized actuator housing
A mechanical housing for robotic actuators will be designed. The housing should be able to measure torque and position. It should be able to fit with various off-the-shelf high ratio gearboxes.
In this project an actuator housing with torque and position sensing and its embedded electronics are going to be developed. The sensor should be able to measure 1 torque, 1 force (optional) and position of the output shaft. The outcome of this project should be a modular actuator housing with integrated torque and position sensing and can fit with off the shelf high ratio strain wave gearboxes.

Overview of Mechatronics topics and study subjects. Identification of minimum 10 pertinent refereed articles or works in the literature in consultation with supervisor or instructor. After 4 weeks, submission of a 2-page proposal outlining the value, state-of-the art and study plan based on these articles. After feedback on the substance and technical writing by the instructor, project commences.
