Intern Position - Automation of a Bending Mechanical Setup and Cable Testing
At the startup-up company nanoleq from ETH Zurich, we developed a new cable technology providing higher
lifetime and mechanical flexibility based on stretchable electronics. We fabricated prototypes of
cables that we now need to compare with standard cables in terms of lifetime and performance.
In the frame of a collaboration with the company Sennheiser, we received standard test
specifications from industry to establish the lifetime of a cable. To benchmark our cable lifetime and assess which combination of materials will provide the best performance, we will perform
mechanical fatigue tests of our cables.
Here is a short overview of the project workflow:
• Acquisition of the right mechanical setup
• Development of project routines
• Implementation of automated routines (modulation of the bending curvature, applied force,
etc)
• Testing of cables and evaluation of their lifetime
• Scientific report + 15 min presentation of the project
