Design of a Workshop Concept for Training Agile for Hardware in Industry
Within this project, you will have the unique opportunity to develop and shape a training concept for the transfer of Agile principles into industry. To do so, you will be closely integrated into our project team.
Agile product development is gaining high interest in many industries. Still, only few hardware developing firms have adopted Agile approaches into their daily development work. To support the adoption, we are envisioning a workshop-based training, where attendees can experience and internalize the culture and mindset behind Agile development. By solving a development task in cross functional teams in a sprint wise manner, participants can actively promote the transfer of Agile principles into their organization. Our proposed development systems is a laser cut, wire bending machine, as depicted on the left. In a pilot project, an Agile training program shall be developed and carried out with internal and external participants.

Within this project, you will have the unique opportunity to develop and shape a training concept for the transfer of Agile principles. To do so, you will be closely integrated into our project team. Your thesis may consist of the following, dependent on interest and expertise:
- Conceptualization & design of course elements
- Option for (co-)moderation of Agile trainings with internal & external attendees to improve the workshop concept
- Improvement of the technical system (wire bending machine) and development tools
- Development of metrics to measure the effectiveness of the Agile training

You are highly interested in product development methodologies (i.e. Agile)
Experience in design & moderation of workshops is desired (e.g. as innovation project coach)
You are able to work independently and are eager to interact with internal & external participants
You approach problems systematically and manage your projects methodically
You are a team player, curious and come up with innovative ideas
Success in product development depends heavily on the competence and skills of teams and individuals. This is why we dedicate our research to create knowledge that enables the value-adding use of new technologies - and to make this knowledge tangible and teachable. Industrial and clinical needs are the driving forces for our interdisciplinary research. Our work is distinguished by a variety of methods, ranging from simulation to validation of real applications. Our research changes the way we develop products, and our expertise changes the way we create sustainable value.
