Doctorate (PhD) in Context-aware Decision Support for Mobile Health
The goal of the project will be the development of adaptive decision support framework and models for diagnosing and monitoring of severe childhood diseases such as dehydration and pneumonia on mobile devices.

Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD position (3 years) to be supervised by the Mobile Health Systems Laboratory (MHSL) in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) of ETH Zurich.
Individuals who hold or will soon receive a Master’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics) are encouraged to apply. Skills in software design (e.g. mobile app or embedded programming and signal processing) and data analytics (including machine learning) are required. Proficiency in MATLAB, Python or similar high-level language is needed. Proficiency in written and oral English, an excellent track record, and the ability to communicate with collaborators across a range of disciplines is also necessary. A demonstrated interest in the application of technology in the field of medicine and/or international development will be viewed favorably. Above all, candidates should be independent, enthusiastic, and with a strong willingness to learn new skills.
