Parameter identification of a cohesive model for FRP-masonry delamination on the basis of full field kinematic data
A masonry pillar, constituted of conventional bricks and mortar joint, reinforced by FRP sheets, is subjected to delamination experiments (single lap shear test). The reinforced face of the sample can be monitored by a digital camera, and full field kinematic data (in plane displacements of the flat
Keywords: inverse problem, computational mechanics, finite element analysis
The candidate will acquire competences in: standalone pipeline "image2simulation" for civil eng and structured eng application; inverse problem; advanced computational mechanics.
The project will be conducted in international cooperation with experimental Lab of Politecnico di Milano; external cooperation of Imperial College (UK), and RWTH-AICES.
The knowledge of the candidate requires to have the following background:
- computational mechanics
- Abaqus and Matlab problem-solving.
- numerical analysis
The outcome of activity will be presented in international conferences and RWTH recurrent seminars.

What am I going to study?
the goal of this project is to build up an original methodology for inverse problem in image2simulation pipe to assess the delamination of material (concrete).
