Research Assistant in Big Data Analysis

The goal of the project is to analyse mobility demand patterns all over the world in order to define strategies to accelerate the decarbonization of transport. Therefore, we are currently gathering National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) data from Europe, Asia and North America. YOUR TASKS:  Establish contact to National Statistics Offices  Check availability of NHTS data and acquire it, if suitable  Understand structure of data and standardize it  Overall goal: Set up a database of comparable, standardized NHTS datasets YOUR INTERESTS  Big data analysis (Quick grasp to deal with huge amounts of data)  Decarbonization of mobility (Seeing the big picture)  Getting in touch with researchers’ daily business YOUR BENEFITS  Professional experience in big data analysis  Insights into state-of-the-art research and supervision by PhD candidate  Salary in line with the ETH rules  Flexible working arrangements in an open and informal environment Applications should be sent electronically and include a CV and a statement of interest.
