Biological testing of disinfecting device for eye surgery

In a different project a functional disinfecting device for eye surgery is being developed. The device consists of a hydrogel and can be triggered through several stimuli.
In this project, we plan to test the efficacy of this device. We use bacteria cultures and investigate the relative amount of bacteria contamination before and after using the sterilizing device. The aim is to understand constraints and optimizing parameters for best sterilizing efficacy. The work will combine lab work (growing biological samples, investigating efficacy of the device) and the statistical analysis thereof.
