Software Developer/Engineer
Part-time position for students in computer science, data science, mathematics, or related areas which have a good background in Python, C++, and CUDA, to work on high-tech digitization of films.

At the Film Studies Department, we are looking for a software engineer with experience in Python, C++, or an advanced master student in computer science, data science, mathematics or related areas to support our multispectral digitization workflow developed in the Bridge Discovery project Scan2Screen, supported by a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation.
At the Film Studies Department, we are looking for a software engineer with experience in Python, C++, or an advanced master student in computer science, data science, mathematics or related areas to support our multispectral digitization workflow developed in the Bridge Discovery project Scan2Screen, supported by a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation.
**Responsibilities and Duties:**
• Check and improve python code
• Provide Windows / Linux / OS X compatibilty
• Transfer Matlab code to python / C++
• Improve speed of image calulation with multithreading C++ / CUDA JIT and help to write/rewrite drivers, C++ parts and wrappers for Python
• Check and improve Arduino Code
• Help restructuring all program parts and subroutines as one package
• Clear documentation and comments for open-source usage
**Requirements**
In general, a good background in computer science, mathematics, or closely related areas is needed, but not necessarily a completed degree. Solid knowledge of Python, C++, MatLab and CUDA is drequired. Having previous experience on Arduino or comparable experience is advantageous.
Applications must include a short (one-page) CV/resume demonstrating the required knowledge background, as well as a brief statement on the part-time work availability and planned schedule.
