Internship position in engineering of optical biosensors
The aim of the project is to design, prepare, and evaluate optical biosensors for continuous glucose monitoring. The intern will perform experimental work in biochemistry and optics laboratories, learn how to operate the state-of-the-art optical equipment.
This position is open for a bachelor or master’s degree level student with chemistry or biochemistry laboratory work experience. This project can be a part of industrial training or a semester/diploma project. The aim of the project is to design, prepare, and evaluate optical biosensors for continuous glucose monitoring. The intern will perform experimental work in biochemistry and optics laboratories, learn how to operate the state-of-the-art optical equipment. Applicants are welcome to apply for a 4 to 8 months internship.

In this project, a student will join a multidisciplinary R&D team and he will work among expert in biotechnology, chemistry, and optical engineering. The aim of this project is to develop an innovative optical sensor for continuous glucose monitoring. The student will have hands-on in a biochemistry and optics laboratory, will learn how to prepare optical sensor materials and test sensor devices. A part of this project will be the application of protein bioconjugation and material surface functionalization methods, material screening in colorimetric assays, absorbance and fluorescence spectroscopies.
