Process Automation and Reduction of Post-Processing in Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Selective Laser Melting (SLM)
Industry related research project in Additive manufacturing.
Keywords: - Additive Manufacturing
- Process Automation
- Design for Additive Manufacturing
- Industry Project - Gressel
Gressel is a world leading and innovative manufacturer of clamping solutions for milling solutions, based in Switzerland. Gressel is now going to enter the fast-growing AM marked in collaboration with Inspire/ETH. AM enables to produce complex parts with integrated functions due to large design freedom. However, the largest problem is the manual and expensive post-process. Within this project, an innovative clamping system will be developed to automate the SLM process chain. This project has a large potential to revolutionize the SLM process chain. Do you want to be a part of this project?

In collaboration with Gressel, we are working on different research questions. First research question:What is the ideal clamping System for preforms within the SLM Process to automate the process chain? Second research question:How to use the design freedom of SLM to clamp the highly individual parts automated after the SLM process? The student will be a part of an academic and industrial oriented project team. We continuously searching talented and motivated students. If you are interested to work in application-based research projects feel free to contact us, then we can discuss more details.Link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku1-BQVTqtc
