Multispectral Optoacoustic Tomography Imaging of Carotid Artery
This project aims to develop algorithms to reconstruct and analyze multispectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT) images from patients with carotid artery plaques.
Keywords: Optoacoustic Imaging, Medical Image Reconstruction, Inverse Problems, Linear Unmixing, Carotid Artery
You will work with experienced computer scientists from ETH Zurich and medical doctors from University Hospital Zurich (USZ) to develop algorithms for analysis of carotid artery plaques using MSOT device that is located in USZ. The project covers all image processing pipeline from signal domain to final statistical analysis. You will be required to improve pre-processing algorithms in signal domain, image reconstruction algorithms and post-processing algorithms to analyze images.
What you will learn
- Image processing methods in medical imaging
- Inverse problems and modeling
- Data analysis and linear unmixing of signals
Required Skills
- Coding in Matlab and Python
- Medical image analysis
- Basic knowledge of image processing algorithms
