Implementation of heart rate variability measurement in eye tracking usability study of LVAD
Heart rate variability will be implemented to an eye tracking usability study of a left ventricular assist device. The usability of these devices is highly relevant for the safety of patients, where the new metric will assess the stress during the study.
In this thesis heart rate variability (HRV) is integrated in an eye tracking usability study using EKG. HRV is an indicator for stress. The usability of a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) will be investigated. LVADS are a common therapy for patients with heart insufficiency. The usability of the devices is highly critical due to its life supporting function. Stress measurement is critical for the usability assessment of LVADs.
