Our groups are located at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG), the newly opened Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD), and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI-PKS), in Dresden, Germany. Our institutes are highly interactive and interdisciplinary workplaces. English is the working language. The international atmosphere offers access to cutting-edge computational and experimental infrastructure and facilities.
**Requirements:**
Admission is based solely on prior scientific qualifications and future potential. Applicants must hold, or anticipate receiving, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Life Sciences, or Chemistry, before taking up PhD thesis work. Applicants holding an excellent BSc degree may also be considered. As English is the working language of the program, applicants should demonstrate a high level of spoken and written English proficiency. TOEFL or IELTS results are helpful but not necessary.
