In this project, you will develop/implement an online human sleep scoring algorithm. Getting hands on an already set up closed-loop system in the sleep lab, using neurophysiological data, you will implement an algorithm for automatic sleep stage classification (ASSC) based on different extracted features. For an initial evaluation of the performance of your algorithm you should be able to run simulations on LabVIEW with previously acquired sleep data. Subsequently, you will get the opportunity to watch your algorithm scoring sleep online in the actual experimental environment. You will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary research group and gain valuable knowledge concerning evaluation and manipulation of human neurophysiological signals. For this project very good/excellent skills in LabVIEW programming are required.
