3D Histology of Human Biopsy
Finding a solution to chemically improve the penetration of antibodies and staining dyes into biological tissue.
We are looking for a student who would like to contribute to the development of an innovative technique to improve histology for cancer diagnosis. The overall objective of the project is to develop a rapid automated platform for 3D histopathology. We are currently working on building an automated platform to perform histology in 3D. We are trying to improve the efficiency and time of penetration of staining molecules, such as dyes or antibodies, into biological tissue (e.g. biopsies). Within the scope of this sub-project, we want to study the chemical environment of diffusion of antibodies and staining molecules for cancer inside biological tissue so that tissue can be fully labeled in its three dimensions.

- Finding a solution to chemically speed up the penetration of antibodies and staining dyes into patient biopsy samples.
- Studying and testing possible ways of improving tissue permeability to get better efficiency and speed for 3D staining.
- Performing experiments (tissue clearing, tissue staining).
