Innovative process monitoring for Additive Manufacturing
Process monitoring of industrial additive manufacturing technologies is an extremely important topic for quality assurance purposes. A new tool has been acquired, and needs to be integrated and tested in our production machine for powder bed fusion of polymers.
Keywords: advanced manufacturing; additive manufacturing; powder bed fusion; polymers; data analysis; CAD; mechatronics; sensor integration; quality assurance;
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is an industrial standard nowadays, especially with powdered feedstock.
Quality assurance of process and parts is still an open topic, and at inspire icams we support Swiss and international companies in the development of new technical tools that would allow further implementation of this family of technologies.
More information in the attachment.

The goal of this project is to integrate this new process monitoring tool into our industrial machine, including the development of the necessary data analysis algorithms. The work will necessarly include hands-on experience on the production machine we have, after a training period. This will be also useful for future experiences in the field of advanced manufacturing.
