Electricity flexibility potential of optimal building retrofit solutions
Buildings consume a considerable amount of energy that has to be reduced to improve the environmental footprint of the building stock. Several models exist that are able to compute sub-optimal or optimal building retrofit solutions. On the other hand, building energy load can be used for demand-side management, or else as a flexible load to match demand and supply. Therefore, quantifying the demand flexibility potential of building retrofit solutions is of great importance. However, existing electricity flexibility quantification methods are restricted to the assumption that "no flexibility has been used before".

The goal of this master thesis is to develop a direct electricity flexibility potential quantification method for optimal building retrofit solutions without the abovementioned assumption.
