5D optoacoustic (photoacoustic) tomography
Optoacoustic (photoacoustic) imaging has been the fastest growing imaging modality since first in vivo applications were demonstrated in the early 2000s. The Multi-Scale Functional and Molecular Imaging Group (ETH Zürich and University of Zürich) has pioneered five dimensional (real-time multi-spectral three-dimensional) optoacoustic tomography and demonstrated its unique capabilities in biomedical research. This approach has also been shown to offer promising prospects for the diagnosis and treatment monitoring of many conditions in the clinical setting. We offer Master projects in both physical and life sciences covering the following topics
- Development of new systems (hardware)
- Development of reconstruction and processing algorithms (software)
- Biological studies in neuroscience, cancer, cardiovascular biology and others.
