In this project, our goal is to build a practical solution for reconstructing 3D earthworks scenes using incomplete point cloud data. We plan to train an encoder-decoder neural network that can accurately recreate the missing parts of the scene. However, our main emphasis lies in creating powerful latent representations that will enable us to train reinforcement learning agents for digging tasks. - Intelligent Robotics

This project will be based on the preliminary results obtained from a previous master project in causal graphical modeling of autonomous dysreflexia (AD). The focus of the extension would be two-fold. One is improving the temporal graphical reconstruction for understanding the mechanism of AD. The other one is building a forecasting framework for the early detection and prevention of AD using the graph structure we constructed before. Please refer to the attached document for more details about the task description. Based on the candidate's qualifications, funding/allowance can be provided. - Artificial Intelligence and Signal and Image Processing, Autonomic Nervous System

Digital health technologies, such as smartphones, smartwatches, and wearables, combined with AI/ML approaches, revolutionize healthcare and offer unprecedented potential for empowering individuals to monitor and assess health status at hand. Our research group in the Centre for Digital Health Interventions at ETH Zurich explores how digital biomarkers collected through everyday devices can deepen our understanding of health and the aging process. Ultimately, we aim to develop a scalable, convenient, and effective digital health solution to promote healthy aging. - Health Information Systems (incl. Surveillance), Software Engineering
