| You will be part of the team for the project Miniature Intraoral Robot (MIR) Performing Minimal-invasive,
Personalized and Precision Dentistry. In this project we aim to develop a robotic device for tooth preparation. - Engineering and Technology
- Bachelor Thesis, Internship
| Our research group has uncovered the function of a novel, previously uncharacterized protein derived from a leech, which modulates host defense mechanisms and the coagulation system in humans. This protein shows promise in treating diseases linked to an overactive immune system, for example acute respiratory distress syndrome or thromboinflammatory diseases. This project aims to further explore the properties of this protein through biophysical and molecular biology techniques. Using rational design and computational tools, we plan to modify this inhibitor to study its interactions with targets in the complement cascade and coagulation system. The research will employ protein engineering methods, including mutagenesis, to elucidate the protein’s binding modes and structure-activity relationships. Students will gain essential skills in molecular biology, bioinformatics, and computational chemistry, and modern drug development.
This project jas recently been funded by Innosuisse. - Biotechnology, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Medical Biochemistry: Proteins and Peptides, Protein Targeting and Signal Transduction, Structural Biology
